Chile protests turn violent on anniversary, two churches burnt

Two churches were torched as thousands of demonstrators gathered on Sunday in a central Santiago square to mark the anniversary of a protest movement last year demanding greater equality. Demonstrators are pressing for a new constitution, replacing the current one dating back to the years of military rule after Gen Augusto Pinochet. Police said 18 officers were injured on Sunday.
