Police groups slam Biden’s advice to shoot suspects ’in the leg’

Multiple law enforcement groups have criticized Biden for advising cops to shoot suspects ’in the leg’ instead of ’shoot to kill’. John Evans, head of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, said Biden’s suggestion is ’absolutely ridiculous’ and that he’s ’trying to appease his left-wing base’. The Detective Endowment Association said Biden’s suggestion ’demonstrates his incompetence’.

The police may not want to hear it, but it is well documented that in Germany they almost never have to kill an arrest suspect. They note frequently how they are baffled about how many bullets an American policeman will use in one firing event.

Shooting someone in the leg you have a much higher probability of hitting the major artery. Even striking bone it can shatter and nick the artery. A thigh can hold the bodies entire quantity of blood even for femoral break, a bullet passing through will kill someone in less than a minute. A lung strike has, surprisingly, more chance of survival than a femoral artery strike.

Legs are also easy to miss, they end being at the level of a child. Not a good idea.

Yeah because shooting the largest artery next to the largest bone on a really difficult shot to make consistiently is advisable. Leftists are so clueless. There is a reason why police try to shoot center mass, it’s the easiest shot to make and has the highest chance of stopping a fight. If you want to ban hollow points then that’s a little more understandable however hollow points have less of a chance of going straight through someone and have better stopping power so it’s more attractive for law enforcement. If you’re going to get into a gunfight you want to be able to minimize the amount of gunshots you make to minimize the chance of killing a civilian.
