Florida company warns of layoffs if Biden wins

Workers at an Orlando-based manufacturing firm are worried about their future as the company’s president conveyed to them that if Biden wins ’DMC could be forced to begin permanent layoffs in late 2020.’ The message was communicated through a letter attached to the employees’ paystubs. The firm’s president has donated $600,000 to Trump and said in a statement that the employees should vote for him

The Left will see this as attempting to intimidate voters into voting for Trump. I however see this as a blunt, honest warning of a company owner to his employees about what might happen to allow them time to plan for such a possible layoffs (like sending feelers out for other places of employment, and/or saving money to ensure survival during a no income period). Honestly you could take this either way so it’s purely dependent on your political leanings.

Nothing wrong with a heads up from the owner. If Biden wins, Made in US goods will dwindle due to all the regulations the Dems will enact and win. Why should we depend on another country? Case and point, when the China virus hit we were low on antibiotics and testing reagents which were manufactured in China.

How could this letter be interpreted in any other way than if you want a job next year, you had better vote for Trump. This employer has no idea what the economy might turn out to be under a different president, but until we get a handle on Covid-19, the economy and our lives will not return to normal. It's pure employee intimidation and if this jerk of an employer had $600,000 to donate to Trump, then there should be some kind of consequence for these actions. If I were an employee of this company, I'd start looking for another job and vote the way I wanted to!!

First ...the company cannot do that...its against EEOC LABOR LAWS and if you read the next article you will see where it appears some funny business has gone one with amounts and what business owner is claiming. Voter intimidation and misrepresentation of campaign funds.

Ah Florida, your employer telling you your kids will have no food on the table if you don’t vote trump...ah America, how you constantly disappoint me.

Nice try lol. Why did your own right wing think tank report that bidets plan would bring massive economic growth and under Trump more jobs have gone overseas then any time in American history, because of poorly instituted tariffs placed all at once instead of incrementally over 5 years, this is plain old voter intimidation

The only important part of this story: "Campaign finance records with the federal government show George Daniels has contributed more than $600,000 to President and PACs that are supporting him and other Republicans this election cycle"

Sounds like an intimidation tactic, pretty petty if you ask me.

This letter is annoying at best. And voter intimidation at worst. I'm conservative and would hate it if it was the other way around.

I worked for a company that the owner and CEO said the same thing just before Obamas reelection. What happened was we all made a lot of money during Obama's second term, including Ol Boss man. It was obviously meant to scare and intimidate.
