Ireland reimposes even stricter lockdown as Covid-19 cases surge

As Covid-19 cases surge in the country, Ireland announced stricter curbs than previously imposed by banning non-essential retail shopping, limiting restaurants and pubs to takeaway service and telling people not to travel more than five kilometers (three miles) from their home. The new restrictions are some of Europe’s toughest till date. They will be imposed for six weeks starting Wednesday.
