Difficulty locating parents of 545 migrant children, claims court filing

In 2018, a court appointed a committee to reunite 1,030 children who had been separated by U.S. border officials with their families. They filed with the court that they have still not been able to reunite 545 children. The border officials did not keep good records or contact information for the families and many of the them were deported making them difficult to locate.

Probably because they didn't actually come over the boarder with their actual, biological parents. But it's Trump's fault....

Maybe, if you don't come illegally, you would have the paperwork on file to prevent this kind of thing...?

Well if they weren’t used for access mules then they might of actually of had family they could get in contact with. As it is now, we should find out if their country of origin can locate their family and/or put them in US foster care. (No, I don’t like our foster care system either, but it’s all we got at the moment).

You can actually rent children when going over the border. Hence the children probably don't know who their parents are and how to find them. Plus probably three best conditions they had in years

This is so despicable and all part of the Stephen Miller/Trump immoral immigration plan. I wouldn't believe americans would still vote for Trump after his family separation policy but if sandy hook couldn't change anything, why would this. So sad.

It's almost as if they came over with adults that were not family. I wonder why the US would be interested in knowing who is responsible for undocumented -children- before before entering and disappearing with unknown people. I like my path to citizenship clear, and my migrants documented. It's not even about tracking. It's about making sure their kids get educated, that they get the services they need, and they can get work. You know ... like a citizen. But you've got to be on the manifest, or the data gets screwy and people fall through all sorts of cracks. Fix the system and the breaches will slow to a leak.

This is outrageous! Did we lock up the kids and release the parents / adults? WTF?!?! How do we not know where the adults, that brought these kids here, are?!?!

Why are kids being blamed for their parents wrong doings? We shouldn’t have kept them under lock and key for two years straight! If you’re soooo concerned do a damn pat/maternity test.

I know this is probably some kind of white supremacy kinda thing; but, if my children were being held by a Gov't entity, I would use every tool available to me to have my children returned to me. I would not expect, nor rely upon said Gov't agency to track me down. I would get my kiddos back!!!

Why was Christ crucified?? Oh yeah he broke the law of Rome by throwing out the money changers. Then the self-righteous Jews of the time applauded the decision. Wonder if anyone besides me sees the connection. Also wonder what side of this issue most atheists are on?? Hmmmm....

They were selling these kids for crossing, sometimes mutiple times. Their real parents are back in Honduras etc. Looking for the parents here is obviously a waste of time. https://lawblogs.uc.edu/ihrlr/2020/05/01/rapid-dna-testing-at-the-border-protecting-the-children/ Rapid DNA Testing at the Border: Protecting the Children by Megan Kauffman|Published May 1, 2020 “This really is an invasion of our country by human traffickers. Please migrate legally. If the parents brought them they should be ashamed putting their children through all that bs. If they were kidnapped that's different. But that's why we need a big big wall.
