OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma to plead guilty to 3 criminal charges: DoJ reports

DoJ announced that Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin, agreed to plead guilty to criminal charges and pay $8.3 billion in penalties. This could lead to settlement of lawsuits against Purdue for its role in the opioids epidemic. Sackler family members who own Purdue will pay $225 million in civil penalties. Prosecutors said Purdue executives or individual Sacklers could still face criminal charges.

Oxy is a scourge on American society, I'm glad the big pharma companies are taking their share of the blame. The penalties are not enough though...

How come Steve Miller and the Sacklars aren't heading to prison? At the very least they should face manslaughter charges.

Who I am: I am a progressive, I am not a Democrat. I am also not a Republican. I voted for Bernie. What I think of this: Great! It is a start! If Trump's admin is directly responsible for this then power to them! Find more and lock up all those drug dealers that are profiting off the death and misery of this country!
