Male chimps mellow with age just like humans, study finds

A study involving 20 years of data from Kibale Chimpanzee Project shows that like human males, chimpanzee males also mellow with age. The finding puts a question mark on the assumption that humans mellow as they become aware of their approaching death. Finding the same in chimps suggests a it could be an evolved trait found in a wider range of species. Primatologist Zarin Machanda led the study.

Definitely not all humans.

Nearly all animals do. What old cats jump all around furniture and scratch curtains? What old dogs are running around chasing balls? Humans don't stop playing tag and chasing each other around jungle gyms because they sense death approaching.
