Who has your data and why you should care

Cybersecurity expert April Falcon Doss has a forthcoming book Cyber Privacy: Who Has Your Data and Why You Should Care. It examines what sorts of data are being collected, how they’re being used (to both our benefit and detriment) and what can be done to keep your digital life history from being leaked across the internet.

So one of the articles talks about taking DNA samples at the border to prove family ties, and it talks about some privacy concerns: "Among them: the tests involve collecting DNA from children who cannot give legal consent;..." well if the children are with their parents then the parents can give legal consent, but oh wait it much easier to cross the border if you have a minor in your possession so quite often the child and the adult are not related, so you're right I guess the children can't give proper consent. What a catch 22 you have there, Engadget.
