Vaccine nationalism will only prolong coronavirus, warns WHO chief

The WHO chief, Tedros Ghebreyesus, said that ’vaccine nationalism will prolong the pandemic, not shorten it.’ He called for global solidarity in the rollout of the future Covid vaccine, and said that although it’s natural for countries to want to protect their own citizens first, ’but...the best way to do that is to vaccinate some people in all countries rather than all people in some countries.’

Nope. My countrymen come first. It is just human nature. We care more about people who are closer to us, who we identify with, over strangers.

Try getting certain Americans to take a vaccine. They still haven’t figured out masks.

There will be no solidarity from those who are so obviously corrupt and paid by their ccp that they created this whole pandemic to start off with. Maybe if Tedoros got taken off the board and put responsible for the thousand of deaths caused by his misinformation. Perhaps we can then discuss solidarity

the WHO is a part of the CCP propaganda machine. They probably would prefer all of us to take China or Russia’s rushed vaccine (even compared to Op Warpspeed which has relatively no flaws so far), and that’s kind of scary that they’d say this. I want to choose which vaccine i trust. I do not want to be given whichever comes first.

So America spends all the money and does all the work but you expect us to pass it around equally while our own people continue to suffer? Does the WHO think they are NATO now?

Tedros and the WHO are vying for global power, and nationalism threatens their position and influence. They don't believe in "global solidarity" for the sake of developing nations. These same nations lose 1.5 million people every year to TB, a disease that is easily treatable but still a serious problem in these countries. Where is the urgent call for "solidarity" on this? Why for covid, whose death toll is less than TB (and that is with inflated numbers)? Not to mention if herd immunity is to be the goal, you need more than "some people" to be vaccinated / exposed to the virus. Spreading vaccines thin will only prolong the recovery of nations and prolong this pandemic.

Instead of developing a local population of vaccinated individuals in an area, let's spread out the vaccinations so that no country can develop the "herd immunity" benefit until everyone on the planet can get vaccinated. This is the kind of shit tier science I am continually seeing coming from this Covid pandemic. This shit tier science is exactly why I will be abstaining from any comic vaccine until the 30 year studies come out.

Nations should work together. But Terdos really has no right telling anyone anything about the virus. His handling of the virus has been the single biggest failure in WHO and possible UN history and the fact that he lost the USA as a member state speaks volumes to this effect. He lied to the world and USA by telling them there was no human to human tramition even after they where given evidence there is. He allowed lying, corruption, CCP infunce and personal bias as a member of the Ethiopian communist party to undermine the entire effort. The fact this man still has a job is a disgrace to the whole UN and world. He belongs in jail.

If the WHO told the truth about covid-19 from the beginning without regurgitating communist lies we wouldn't have had a pandemic. This guy failed at his job and the American people would rather blame their president instead of those who were most responsible. The politicizing of the virus was the beginning of the reasons why I'm voting for Trump. I'm not saying that he is not a problem, but when compared to the Democrats he's more trustworthy. Believe it or not, just do your own research and stop listening to those who tell you what to think.

You know what wouldn't have prolonged the virus? Telling the world it isn't human to human transmittable because the Chinese Yen said so

Nothing that I can remember has ever rolled out on a global scale. There isn't a global infrastructure to do it and no one that can be trusted to do it.

Countries that create a vaccine should naturally give it to their own people first.
