Global markets in the red as COVID-19 and election uncertainty weighs in

US equity markets opened lower Monday as coronavirus infections rose and negotiations around a stimulus package remains uncertain as the nation draws closer to the elections. The DJIA was down nearly 1.6% and traced the movement in global markets. Asian and European markets also traded the day sharply lower. Tech stocks saw selling pressure after SAP saw its shares plunge more than 20%.
