MIT researchers create self-driven ’Roboat’ that can carry two passengers

Researchers in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have tested an autonomous self-driven boat. Dubbed as ’Roboat II’ (taken from its predecessor ’Roboat’), it can carry two passengers. The product is a result of five years of work at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. The team is creating the world’s first fleet of self-driven boats for Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Awesome. Separately (and fortunately), if this is what MIT has been working on for years, we are a long way off from robots taking over the world.
