Supreme Court rejects bid to extend Wisconsin mail-in voting deadline

The Supreme Court blocked a bid by Democrats to reinstate a six-day extension for the receipt of mail-in ballots in Wisconsin. A federal district judge ruled in Sept. that Wisconsin mail ballots postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 3, and received up to six days later would be counted. Justice Kagan, joined by her liberal colleagues, Justices Sotomayor and Stephen Breyer, dissented the order.
