Tanzanian opposition party says police kill 7 citizen ahead of presidential vote

The primary opposition party in Tanzania accused police of shooting dead at least seven citizens and creating unrest over alleged fraud on eve of country’s presidential election. John Magufuli, one of Africa’s most controversial leaders, is seeking a second term as president. Separately, the ACT Wazalendo party said police arrested its Zanzibar presidential candidate Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad.
