CBP reportedly tracking Americans without a warrant

The US Customs and Border Protection refused to tell Congress as to what legal authority it is using in order to use commercially bought location data to track Americans without a warrant. The same was reported by the office of Senator Ron Wyden. The agency is also reportedly buying location data from American citizens from all across the country and not just in border areas.

this is another reason why we need real privacy laws in this country.

I would not think one requires a warrant to track someone per say, but potentially to acquire the information used to track someone.
