Windows 10 update removes Flash, prevents reinstallation

In its latest bid to end support for Flash in Internet Explorer 11, the older version of Edge, and Chromium-powered Edge by the end of the year, Microsoft has released a manual update for Windows 10 that removes Flash from the operating system and blocks users from reinstalling it. Tech giants, like Microsoft, Apple, Google, are replacing Flash with better and secure options, like HTML5 and WebGL.

Things like this are the reason I don't have Windows 10. Sure flash is probably not very useful in general but I do not think that I want someone taking away my options.

So microsoft is again trying to control us. I didn't even want 10 but it installed itself when I went out for a hour and I was pissed. I don't use linux or other os because I'm not very good with these kinda things. It just gets more infuriating that these kind of companies keep making more needlessly complicated crap.

Flash has been dead for years and is something that most browsers will block automatically. But expect to find issues where you least expect to. Had to reinstall an application (think it was a Cisco product) on my work computer last week and it made me update flash and open up the old IE.

Good. It's just a big stupid dangerous thing tacked into browsers; the most common vector for cyber attacks, and functions like a gigantic dog-flap on your back door. Sure you might need it because you want a doberman and you got a high fence, but it doesn't do much good when a burglar who is good with animals uses it to let himself in. Next step; take internet explorer round the back of the shed and put a bullet through its tired old eyes.
