Consumer Reports say Tesla’s Autopilot comes ’a distant second’

Consumer Reports have rated Tesla’s Autopilot system ’a distant second’ to top dog GM and they have a long way to go if they want to be the leader of the industry. Out of a possible 100 points, Elon Musk’s Tesla has scored 57 in the Wednesday’s ranking of the publication. GM is leading the industrial ranking having scored 69 points. Tesla, coming second is still beating 15 other competitors.

They're giving Tesla's autopilot a test for 'driving assistance' so it's bound to not score very well. In capabilities and performance Tesla wins, where Tesla loses is in driver engagement. They just did a story on this not too long ago with the same result.

Why are these companies making their own A.I.s instead of working with outside companies? Bill Gates didn't become a multi-billionaire by inventing anything. He worked with other inventors and purchased their inventions, then integrated it all together. He was brilliant, but he also relied on the brilliance of others.
