Michigan imposes new curbs on dining, gatherings as Covid-19 cases surge

Michigan announced new and more stringent Covid-19 restrictions as new cases surged to the highest rates across the state since the pandemic hit the US. They include new curbs on the number of people who may dine together at a bar or restaurant, require eateries to keep contact information for dine-in customers and mask wearing in public mandatory. The mask order doesn’t apply to polling places.

She operates in a vacuum. Our legislators did not know this was coming or the details. But they passed bill 6032 which enacts liability for COVID-19 exposure... except for her with putting COVID-19 patients in nursing homes. Legislators wrote the bill and the governor signed it into law. It mandates employees to stay home for 14 days for ANY symptom of Covid, which mimic the flu symptoms, and you must be tested to return to work. It’s flu season! Plus it restricts the employers from filling the vacancies left by anyone out with “symptoms.” And they can be fined no less than $5000 if found guilty of going against an employee. Employees need only to say they have symptoms and stay home over and over and the employers can’t fire them. That’s just some of what it says. All legislators who were present signed this... So, on top of all that... I guess we now have to stay in the hospital 24-hours if we test positive. Who pays for that? What if hospital essential workers stay home? Under the new law...they can't be fired. Oh, and we have to keep our voices down. And they're trying to mandate what we do in our own homes. It's crazy. We have no viable representation.
