Tesla raises price of ’Full Self-Driving’ option to $10,000 from $8,000

Tesla’s ’Full Self-Driving’ option, which currently has autopilot features, like changing lanes on highways and automatic parking, will now cost $10,000. This is a hike of $2,000 over the $8,000 beta. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced this in a tweet in response to the launch of the Full Self-Driving beta to select customers. He said he expects ’wide release’ of Full Self-Driving before the year-end.

I got a real fright the other day, peering into a parked Tesla. It told me I was being recorded and to step away. Like Kit.

Wish they would have lowered it to $2000 instead. The AI is more capable than 2/3's of the sentient drivers out there.

As someone who has to drive in California this can’t come soon enough. 90% of people here shouldn’t be allowed to decide on what they’ll have for dinner let alone all the split second decisions that come with driving.

Maybe it will be as good as this: https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/roborace-self-driving-race-car-crash/ 😅😅😅😅😅😅 People who give up control to automated cars will get what they deserve.

Wide-release with a price increase is oxymoronic. Unless we’re talking about releasing to dealerships..

Locked mine in on my cybertruck order. I probably should find a job to pay for that within the next two years.

"Musk has always maintained that users were getting a discount by handing money over early to Tesla in order to help it develop technology that would come later, so in many ways it makes sense that the price increase comes now." - Yahoo News (left) $10,000 is cheaper than I would have thought, and even the left wing source didn't have a problem with it.
