Trump had $270 million in debt forgiven for his Chicago skyscraper: NYT

Trump had $270M worth of debt forgiven by his lenders in 2010 that he failed to pay back for his Trump Tower, the NYT reported, citing his income tax records. The paper says that Trump maneuvered himself out of the situation by trying to walk away from his huge debts, forcing the lenders to ’cut him slack’ because they didn’t want to confront ’a notoriously litigious and headline-seeking client’.

He made deals with lenders, did not do anything illegal, and had no government authority. What's the problem? Since the only article sources the Times for everything, why is that article not here?

Anything but itemized expense accounts! Goodness, no, not those! Everyone knows if you are trying to make money through graft or corruption the best thing to do is to install your son on the board of a foreign company so as to launder all of the foreign contributions as nothing more than an exorbitant salary to the planted son. Come on, man!

According to the NYT original story, Trump was a bad man, bad, very BAD! Also; he did nothing illegal. But he is bad, very bad, and orange, and bad. But he did nothing wrong or illegal...darn it. Thanks NYT, you have proven you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken s**t! So much journalisming.

What about the Biden's walking away from massive debt from China, Russia, Ukraine, etc. I'd rather have a president with debt in the country than one with debt to every other major country.

He walks away from his wives, his business partners and America. Trump is weak and bails when things get difficult.

Well at least you can tell yourselves this is what happens every election time. It will go away and come back in a different form in 2024.

Rich people screwing over other rich people, did I miss the part in the story where the people and companies who actually built the project didn't get paid?

Why does the media scrupulously ignore the obvious corruption of the Bidens? (Tony Bobulinski) Why does the media ignore the evidence on Hunter Biden's laptop? It looks like Hunter has hurt little girls, made deals with China's spy chief (his words), and abused family members.

Yet NYT doesn’t care about Hunter’s Laptop.

Maybe he can negotiate us out of some of the debt Obama ran up with China. Thanks for showing another reason to vote Trump.

I don’t trust the NYT more than I could throw them but assuming this is true than it just seems like business. If he got himself a deal than good for him.
