Typhoon Goni leaves 20 people dead in the Philippines

A super typhoon that hit the Philippines has left 20 people dead and damaged thousands of buildings. Goni made landfall on the Catanduanes island at 7:50 pm GMT on Sunday with high wind speeds of up to 190 mph. It has since weakened but has still caused havoc on the Luzon island, home to the country’s capital Manila. In Virac, the first town it struck, 90% of the buildings may have been damaged.

Glad the typhoon that hit our country is getting covered. Bicol and Catanduanes were hit hardest, the government acted swiftly but more help is needed in these areas. Not all places in the country were affected and numerous locations were spared.

The Philippines is the most predominantly Christian Catholic country in Asia. This year and last, they've been besieged by China bringing some 5M illegal and possibly military personnel into the country. 5 years ago up to the present, China occupies a cookie of t he Philippine islands in the Spratleys. The President has seemingly sided with the Chinese as China's military might, ambition, and world influence continues to grow. Imagine what a Biden presidency will do to this once very loyal ally and former colony of the United States and its very hospitable freedom loving people.
