Twitter suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene over ’misleading’ Covid posts

Twitter suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday for violating its policy against posting ’misleading information’ related to the coronavirus pandemic. Greene’s personal account was in ’read-only mode’ for 12 hours. Twitter also attached notices to two of the congresswoman’s tweets about COVID-19 vaccines. Greene has been an outspoken critic of mask and vaccine mandates.

And yet, interestingly, when Trump was President and pushing Operation Warp Speed to create the Covid-19 vaccines, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, among others spoke very publicly about how they wouldn’t ever trust a vaccine that Trump had anything to do with. Had Trump been re-elected, the only vaccine that many Democrat voters would likely have accepted, would have been the Pfizer vaccine…. Based on what the same Democrat politicians would now call “spreading misleading information” or “misinformation”. In fact, Joe cautioned against rushing the vaccines out for that very reason. Couldn’t have possibly been that he wanted to be able to lay claim to getting the vaccines out himself… no, no… he just didn’t trust Trump. So what would Joe be telling people now about the vaccines, if he had not won the election.? How many Democrats would now be “vaccine hesitant “ or just outright resistant. And, if Trump were trying to control Information on social media platforms and ensure that only his approved narrative was the one being distributed and permitted, the uproar from the left over his ‘Fascist, Authoritarian Dictatorship’, violation of First Amendment rights and the “threat to our Democracy” would be deafening. Hypocrisy. All the way around.

This is an elected official. So now social media gets to decide which elected officials get to speak on their """""""""""""""""platform"""""""""""""""""

This was her tweet: The controversial #COVID19 vaccines should not be forced on our military for a virus that is not dangerous for non-obese people and those under 65. With 6,000 vax related deaths and many concerning side effects reported, the vax should be a choice not a mandate for everyone.

I mean she was factually correct. The only thing misleading about her post is that Twitter called it misleading.🤷🏾‍♂️

She's an embarrassment to the GOP and somebody should be having a word with her. Having said that, along with the recent tacit admission by Jen "Circle back" Psaki that the government is colluding with Facebook, Twitter, et Al to ban people, it does look like this is skating extremely close to being a first amendment violation.

It would be so refreshing if they would just come out and say; “we’re kicking off all conservatives, republicans and anybody we think is a poopie-head.” Just be honest about it.

You don't correct misinformation by trying to make it disappear, this just fans the flames. It looks to me like Ms. Greene needs a tour of the hospitals in southern Missouri and see for herself what happens to unvaccinated patients. Even those that don't die will spend somewhere between 1 to 8 weeks in the hospital, not a picnic. Misinformation is heartbreaking, but I still do not believe in silencing people who say things I don't like. There have been way more people, young people, who have died in order to protect that very freedom.

I’m not a democrat. I’m not a Republican. However,10s of 1000s of researches across the globe. Billions more reaching the same consensus. Then all of a sudden, a couple million people all in the same party and mostly in the same country denounce everything as lies and are manipulated by a party that actively and openly seeks to uneducated its citizens in the name of anti-liberal propaganda. The Republican Party now sits at 66% of those who identify themselves as “anti-college”. A year before trump was elected, that number was 33%. Uneducated people still vote. They know that. Watch your back Republicans. I personally think y’all getting played big time

Especially BECAUSE she is an elected official she has a responsibility to tell the truth and not mislead people. This is what she did and the internet is not an extralegal space.

It appears anything said that does not agree with the regime is considered misinformation. Have we learned nothing from history?

Yes a private company can even exclude an elected official. You dont get to force companies to accomodate you because you are in office. And conservatives are the ones for small gov't?

She unfortunately has chosen a platform meant to represent and be truthful to showcase her own personal views and misleading information (unless she has a medical background in research and science) that will lead to many short and long term preventable illnesses and sadly death for many. Poor way to represent.

Her tweet was ill informed. However it pales in comparison to the truly !diotic nonsense this hillbilly has been spewing for months. Maybe she can move to the pillow guy’s platform.

Ppl seem to be missing the mark on this. A company such as social media have a set of rules that you are agreeing to follow as soon as you download and open the app. So there for you are signing over your freedom of speech in order to be on the platform.
