Extremely rare swine flu strain diagnosed in Canada, only 27 cases worldwide

A rare variant of swine flu with only 27 cases confirmed globally since 2005 was found in mid-October after a patient developed influenza-like symptoms in central Alberta, Canada. Authorities in Alberta said the patient quickly recovered after they tested positive and there’s no evidence there was spread. Alberta’s chief veterinarian said influenza is not unusual in Alberta’s pig population.

Here comes the fear mongering. Hey lefty news media, you already cried wolf once...and it was a beagle....the world will ignore you.

If it's like the last one, probably people working closely with pigs. Thankfully when flu is jumping species it tends to be poor at transmission...the main problem is if it gets enough of a foothold to genetically drift/shift but it looks like they've locked it down.

Taking every crisis the media reports with a grain of salt... Unless it's a Sharknado of course...
