France records more than 60,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day

France recorded its highest one day total since the coronavirus pandemic began, as it recorded 60,486 cases of COVID-19 in a single day. Data from the John Hopkins University said that this brings the total number of cases in the country to 1.7 million. The country also saw 828 deaths on Friday, with nearly 40,000 people having succumbed to the virus.
