Celebrations in a village in South India over Kamala Harris win

Overjoyed by the news of vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ victory in the US elections, people in the south Indian village of her grandfather, broke out in celebrations. Calling her the ’pride of our village,’ residents of Thulasendrapuram, set off firecrackers, carried her placards and offered prayers. Harris’ mother was born in India and later moved to the US when she was 19.
