Veterans, Gold Star families given free access to national parks, federal sites

The US Department of Veteran Affairs has announced that starting Veterans’ Day, November 11, it will grant war veterans and the relatives of service members who died in the line of duty free entry to national parks and other federally owned properties. This covers around 2,000 public, federally owned locations ranging from wildlife to national parks, including Department of Interior property.
