UK’s Premier Foods, which owns food brands like Bisto gravy, custard-maker Ambrosia and Mr Kipling’s cakes, announced strong sales during the Covid-19 lockdown. The company credited the ’exceptional demand’ for its food brands to the pandemic, which it said turned people towards comfort food. Profits for the six months to September were up 50% at £47.7 million ($63.19 million).
