Toronto van attacker pleads not criminally responsible

Alek Minassian went into trial for the murder of 10 and attempted murder of 16 Canadians. He intentionally drove a van into pedestrians on a Toronto street in 2018. During his appearance before a judge, Minassian, 28, said: ’I’m entering a plea of not criminally responsible for all counts.’ His lawyer said Minassian pleads not guilty but isn’t contesting that he planned and executed the attack.
