UK to protect key firms from takeovers that threaten national security
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government is planning to bring a bill that will give it powers to block foreign takeovers of British firms if they threaten national security. The National Security and Investment Bill will allow the government to block deals if it decides there are risks to the UK. The move comes close to the heels of concerns over some foreign companies, like China’s Huawei.
