UK mulls ban on online junk food ads

The UK has proposed a ban on online advertising of unhealthy foods as part of its efforts to tackle obesity and improve public health. If implemented, the measures would ban online adverts for foods high in fat, sugar and salt. The government identified obesity is one of country’s biggest long-term public health problems with almost one in three children leaving primary school overweight or obese.

Banning them would go against their right to speech, however you could make a case for tax them extra for advertising these products in this fashion.

Do people even pay attention to online ads for junk food?

Censoring food ads? I hope they banned cigarette and alcohol ads. People can decide if they want to eat junk food.
