Lucille Bridges, mother of anti-segregation icon, dies at 86

Lucille Commadore Bridges, who grabbed world headlines in 1960 by breaking through school segregation by enrolling her daughter Ruby, 6, in an all-white school in New Orleans, has died of cancer. She was 86. Under a hail of abuses from white protesters, Bridges walked her daughter to the William Frantz Elementary School on November 14, 1960, under federal marshals’ escort.

And now we have so many people doing everything they can to divide, separate and segregate in the name of "diversity," they are acting as if these people who lived and fought through much tougher time in order to be allowed to integrate never existed. That their efforts were meaningless and a waste. What a shame.
