US wholesale prices rise by 0.3% in October as food costs go up

Wholesale prices in the United States rose by 0.3% in October as food costs jumped by the largest amount in five months. The Labor Department reported Friday that food costs rose 2.4%, the biggest increase since a 5.6% upward spike in May, primarily due to the coronavirus pandemic-triggered shortages.
