Thousands forced flee from Tigray amid intense conflict in Ethiopia

Intense fighting between military and rebel forces has forced thousands to flee from the semi-autonomous region of Tigray in Ethiopia. More than 7,000 Ethiopian refugees are currently being hosted at a border town in Sudan and the numbers are expected to increase. The conflict began after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed sent troops to Tigray accusing local officials of attacking a military base.
