Playing video games can be good for your mental health, study finds
Using data from EA and Nintendo, researchers at Oxford University have discovered that video games can have a positive effect on emotional well-being. The study showed that players who played socially engaging games for pure enjoyment reported to be happier overall. The study showed that the longer the players gamed, the happier they felt.
People get happy by engaging in their hobbies? You don't say?
In the same way movies or books could be good for people. Many games require mostly reading and some times the reading level is high school to university level interms of interpretation and vocabulary.
I'm sad that it took this long for people to figure out enjoying your hobbies is good for your mental health.
Gamers have known that video games provide a form of stress relief for years.
Too much of anything is a bad thing and making our youth addicted to technology and social media isn't gonna help their long term happiness. Kids who hame too much also have behavioral issues. Who cares that their happy when their tossing furniture at their parents for not buying them a new game? Kids arnt smart enough to know whats good n bad, most adults are. Trump is a perfect example

I enjoy gaming because it’s not as loaded with social/political narratives & advertising as TV & streaming. Almost everything on those platforms has some kind of agenda they’re trying to shove down your throat.

I don't doubt it, but I also don't care about studies on it. They will find whatever they want to find. Just let people enjoy their entertainment.
