Microsoft announced AI-based noise suppression for its Teams meeting software

After first announcing real-time noise suppression features in March 2020 Microsoft is now gradually rolling out a new AI-based feature to filter out background noises during online meetings. The new feature uses deep neural networks. The user can choose between off, low and high settings with the high settings needing a processor that supports the AVX2 extension.

clickbait title. Let me get to editing it. No news though either way. Edit: less clickbaity and more neutral informative now. Yeah, noise suppression is nice, most other similar software already had “something” for a long time. If microsoft wants to push its AI it needs to give better results than others, let’s see.
