Covid-19 vaccine makes IOC chief confident about successful Tokyo Olympics

Thomas Bach, the chief of the International Olympic Committee, expressed confidence that the Tokyo Olympics would take place despite a global surge in new Covid-19 infections. Bach said attendees and the 11,000 athletes taking part could be vaccinated before they arrived in Japan. The 2020 Summer Olympics were due to begin in July this year but were pushed to next summer because of the pandemic.
