Days after congratulating Biden, France’s Macron meets Pompeo
French President Emmanuel Macron met Monday with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo behind closed doors, only nine days after having congratulated Joe Biden on his election victory. The purposes of Pompeo’s three-day visit to Paris appeared unclear. Macron’s office described Pompeo’s stop at the presidential Elysee Palace as a ’courtesy’ visit.
