Tesla shares jump as company set to join S&P 500
Tesla shares jumped nearly 14% in after-hours trading following a report from S&P that the electric carmaker will be included in the S&P 500 index. Reports say Tesla will be added to the S&P 500 effective prior to the open of trading on December 21 to coincide with the December quarterly rebalance. The company reported earnings of $331 million in the third quarter on revenue of $8.77 billion.
