Federal prosecutors said the FBI arrested Matthew Piercey, a man wanted for his role in an alleged $35 million Ponzi scam, after evading agents by swimming into California’s Lake Shasta using an underwater ’sea scooter.’ When agents went to arrest Piercey, he jumped in a pickup prompting a chase up to the lake where he used a Yamaha 350Li submersible device hide under water before resurfacing.
