US retail sales grew slower than anticipated at 0.3% in October

US retail sales grew lower than expected at 0.3% in Oct against analysts anticipation of 0.5% rise. Oct’s numbers were much smaller than Sept., which reported a rise of 1.6%, according to US Commerce Department. Best Buy, Target and Walmart offered holiday deals in mid-Oct as Amazon held its annual Prime Day sales event in the fall after it was postponed from July owing to the pandemic this year.
