Google Maps to display number of COVID-19 cases in an area

Google Maps has rolled out new information related to COVID-19 in a particular area. The app will now display the total number of cases and deaths till now and a 7-day trend indicating if the numbers are going up or down. It will also provide access local guidelines, restrictions, and information related to testing centers.

One problem I have with the (per 100, 000) statistic is that very low population areas get amplified. Two families in a small town get it and the whole town turns bright red.

They just need to show places with highest testing, high testing equals high postive tests, real of false. Cases are tracking pretty close on number if reported tests. The positive rate is usually 9% or so, scaie the testing exponentially, your get exponential positive test results.

I'd love to see this for deaths, but they won't do that because they have been flatlining and in many places decreasing. We aren't allowed to think or talk about that though.🤦🏽‍♂️
