Uganda’s capital erupts in protests over Bobi Wine’s arrest

Three people died and 38 were injured in protests which broke out in Kampala, Uganda following the arrest of Bobi Wine, a musician and opposition politician seeking the presidency in next year’s election. Roads were blocked and tires were burnt by his supporters, which prompted the police to fire tear gas and bullets to disperse the protesters. Wine was arrested for violating COVID-19 guidelines.
