Apple halves its App Store fee for smaller companies

Apple has announced that it will cut App Store fees by half, to 15%, for software developers with less than $1M in annual net sales on its platform. Apple currently takes a 30% commission from the total price of paid apps and in-app purchases from the App Store. Once a developer passes that threshold, they’ll be billed at the standard 30% rate.

Ree equality.... Yes, it's Apple's platform, and yes this encourages less popular developers to stick around. And no this doesn't usually affect the end-user. This could lead to developers marketing their apps less so they can keep extra income. Only the very very very successful ones will match their prior sales.
