Palestinian woman becomes Gaza’s first female taxi driver

A Palestinian mother-of-five Nayla Abu Jubbah has garnered appreciation after she became the first female taxi driver in the Gaza Strip. While women have the same legal rights as men to drive a vehicle in the Palestinian territory, in practice the trade of taxi driver has been exclusively male. Jubbah started off her taxi company as the territory suffered economic woes burdened by COVID-19.
