In Uganda, death toll in violence rises to 16 following Bobi Wine’s arrest

At least 16 people were killed and nearly 100 injured as violence continued in Uganda for the second day after President Yoweri Museveni’s government arrested musician and opposition presidential hopeful Bobi Wine. Wine was arrested for flouting Covid-19 rules, and another candidate, Patrick Amuriat, was arrested for planning an unauthorized rally. This is the worst violence in Uganda in a decade.
