SpaceX has launched a US-European satellite, Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, that will monitor sea levels for at least a decade. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket took off from Vandenberg Air Force Base carrying the satellite into orbit. The satellite carries an extremely accurate radar altimeter that will bounce energy off the sea surface as it goes over Earth’s oceans.
