Pat Quinn, a motivational speaker and co-founder of Ice Bucket Challenge, died Sunday after a long battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) — the disease he tirelessly raised awareness for. Quinn was the co-founder of the campaign that raised more than $220m for medical research into ALS, often called Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was diagnosed with ALS on 8 March 2013.
Most people don't know that the first person to die from an ice bucket challenge was George Allen (former LA Rams head coach). He coached his former college team after the Rams (Long Beach State) to a winning season only to have a bucket of ice water thrown on him after the final game. He subsequently died of pneumonia.
😪😪😪
Very sad
Heaven awaits this giant of a man! God Bless
