Oxford AstraZeneca Covid vaccine 90% effective as two-stage vaccination

The coronavirus vaccine developed by the University of Oxford stops 70% of people developing Covid symptoms, a large-scale trial shows. The vaccine was 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 when it was administered as a half dose followed by a full dose at least one month apart. The UK government has pre-ordered 100 million doses of the Oxford vaccine, enough to immunize 50 million people.
