As COVID-19 cases surge, Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade scaled back further

The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City will be scaled down on Thursday, with just about 960 performers and handlers staging the event. Usually, nearly 10,000 are featured in the annual event. Planners had earlier hoped they could scale down the number of performers to 1,500, but the latest surge in COVID-19 cases forced them to limit participation further.
