New York City’s first and only black mayor David Dinkins has died at the age of 93. Initial indications were that Dinkins died of natural causes. Dinkins served as the city’s mayor from 1990 to 1993. He is credited with revitalizing Times Square and spending millions of dollars to rehabilitate housing in some of the most deprived parts of the city, such as Harlem and the Bronx.
