EU reaches deal with Moderna to supply 160 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine

The European Union has reached a deal with US pharmaceutical company Moderna for the supply of its Covid-19 vaccine candidate. The EU said talks with Moderna for 80 million doses of its vaccine, with the option of buying another 80 million, have successfully concluded. Recently, Moderna said in clinical trials on humans, its experimental vaccine showed 94.5% efficacy in preventing Covid-19.
